Essential Oil Recommendations - Part 2

Amrita is an Essential Oil company that was recommended to me during my Aromatherapy Certification process by my mentor, and this company is a trusted source of high-quality essential oils. One of the things that quickly caught my attention with them, was that they carry Bergamot Bergaptene Free. If you're wondering why that matters, it's because I love Bergamot, but it's highly phototoxic. What that means is that severe sunburn and extreme pigmentations can be the result of applying it topically and getting sun or UV ray exposure within a certain number of hours after the application. The Bergamot Bergaptene Free gives you the same great benefits of Bergamot, but it is NOT phototoxic, which means, you can safely apply it topically and still enjoy being out in the sun. I LOVE that! Amrita has an entire blog post on their site all about these two oils and their differences. It even goes into the difference between cold-pressed (Bergamot) and steam-distilled (Bergamot Bergaptene Free) extraction process, if you want to dive a little deeper into how we get our essential oils.

Amrita has many different single essential oils and blends, as well as some other unique products to benefit health that we'll take a look at in another blog post.
